What Worked
Although the Vince McMahon vs. Steve Austin angle continues to work I'm wondering how wise it is to spend so much time not developing just a wrestler as a legit challenger to the title. Sure, Dude Love has been groomed pretty well for the shot but along with him comes McMahon, Brisco and Patterson. This angle is doing good business but for those of us who care, it's not lending much credibility to Steve Austin's title reign. Anyway, it was good to see the old boys commanding centre ring and building a great opening segment.

The whole idea of a group of WWF wrestlers hassling people at the WCW office is a good idea in priniciple but not in practice. DX could have been anywhere for all the anonymous Turner employees and visitors they videotaped. It's still at this point an innovative angle so I got a kick out of it and am gonna recommend it but I can't help but thinking that this promised more than it delivered.

Al Snow's onscreen debut was pretty cool because enough people in the audience recognized him to generate some decemt heat for a guy who nobody should be expected to know. I hope the WWF takes this as a sign that given a fair chance, Snow can get over.

3H vs. Owen Hart was ok, but they seemed to be dragging their feet a little and Owen just doesn't look interested at all lately. I was digging the DX command performance a lot more 'cos they were way over, but it was really weak to have Hart interrupt all the fun.

Vince McMahon delivered on that clothesline to Steve Austin, and the whole match versus Rocky Maivia & D-Lo Brown was pretty good all around, a solid storyline and decent wrestling. The run-in was cool too since everyone involved has heat with one another and the crowd got into it big.

What Didn't Work
Why did the debut of Kaentai DX have to suck so bad? How could it possibly make them look good to get squashed in a handicap match in which they had the advantage? Why did they cop out on giving a push to anybody involved in the post-"match" brawl? Why did Men's Teioh cut his fucking hair?

Jeff Jarrett, Faarooq, Steve Blackman, everyone else involved, please get off my TV screen.

Ok, I've been leaning on the Legion of Doom pretty hard but even I can see the injustice in jobbing Hawk to one of the nazi twins. I don't like to watch the LOD but I don't get any satisfaction at seeing a guy who was once pushed hard as a legitimate NWA heavyweight title contender in PWI back in 1980-something against Ric Flair jobbing to one of the Bruise Brothers. I remember being pissed off when WCW had the Bruises lose to Hogan and Sting in a matter of seconds at a Disney taping because they were ex-ECW. Now I cherish that tape.

Barry Windham's descent into full-on jobber mode was helped out this week with his loss to Vader in a lousy squash. I'm glad Vader's getting another push but I still hate to see BW go down like this.

Hey, Sable had on those cool UWFi boots! Forget her five thousand breast implants, those boots made her the sexiest chick on wrestling TV this week! Kick me! Oh yeah, but that whole debacle with Marc Mero kinda sucked, even if she did almost execute a cool powerbomb.
