What Worked
Up until about five minutes before Raw went off the air, McMahon, Steve Austin, and gang had crafted one of the best angles in Raw history, and then just like they did with the dumpster angle earlier this year, they flushed it down the toilet with a very disappointing climax. I'm still going to give it a thumbs up, albeit grudgingly, because I was completely transfixed to my TV screen for the last fifteen minutes of the show. It's no secret that I'm a big Mick Foley fan, and his work was decent, but Dude Love was a major letdown and a big rip off. Vince is no wrestler but I'm sure he could have taken a few bumps for Austin, including a left-handed stunner for the pinfall, before Dude did his run-in.

The chain match between the DOA and Los Boriquas wasn't great or anything but it was short and action packed, and the outside the ring stuff was decent enough to make it an overall enjoyable segment. I don't really care that DX double crossed Los Boriquas (AGAIN!) but it was a pretty good pay off to the angle when Chyna low blowed 'em.

Ron Simmons did a decent job on his interview, and the pull apart brawl looked good, so I'm gonna give this one the nod. I can't explain why I think Simmons deserves a singles push, but he does.

It's nice that 2 Cold Scorpio is getting a push this week but we'll see how long it lasts. Nothing special in Funk/Scorpio vs. The Quebecers but it did it's job, and Pierre pulled off a cool top rope suplex, and Terry Funk finally stopped wearing pantyhose on his head.

Billy Gunn vs. Owen Hart was ok but the pre-match interview by Helmsley was the best part of the whole deal (and for the record, LOD 2000 were the worst). I especially liked the line about Road Dog writing his essay on Zig Zags. X-Pac was better this week on commentary but I think that had a lot to do with Helmsley being there to help him out. Kind of a lame finish to the match, the old school boy, but all told probably the best wrestling match of the night on Raw.

What Didn't Work
I'm certainly not as pissed off about TAKA Michinoku vs. Jeff Sack of Shit Jarrett as I would have been if Jarrett had scored a pinfall, but it still sucked that a WWF CHAMPION DIDN'T EVEN GET ENTRANCE MUSIC! The Kamikaze run-in was cool again. If they do this for a few weeks it might built some heat since the crowd reacted better this time. Jarrett really needs to get a new grasp on the Double J character to get himself over. I was thinking something along the lines of playing a full-fledged '70s heel to the point where it becomes obvious he's having bad matches on purpose which, I think, would draw him more heat. I'm thinking something along the lines of Cactus Jack right before he left ECW (not taking any crazy bumps and working a real simple style to piss off the hardcores). Hey, that's about all I can come up with for this bum.

Luna and Sable showed off their cleavage. Dustin dressed in drag. Kick ass and all that.

Steve Blackman & Ken Shamrock vs. the Midnight Express was ok but the double DQ out of nowhere was one of the worst finishes of the year.

The Undertaker destroyed a bunch of good wrestlers on this weeks show, took up a whole lot of airtime jawing with Kane, and pissed me off a whole heck of a lot.
