What Worked
The ShamRock segment started off kind of slow but it ended up being pretty good, with the decent Shamrock vs. D-Lo match and the chairshot upside Ken's skull.

The Michaels and Austin Road to Wrestlemania pieces were really well done. I liked the Michaels piece because it showed him beating up on Hall and Nash, and the one old shot of Shawn at the end was cool but they should have shown more Rockers stuff. I liked the Austin piece because they cleared up that whole Ringmaster crap and Steve came across as a serious threat to the title.

Just about the best thing on Raw this week was Vince McMahon. Here's a guy I would perennially vote as most obnoxious (well, right behind Gene Okerlund, and Eric Bischoff) and now I think he's a serious contender for a top three spot on the best on interviews list. It's sick: here's a guy who when he tried to get over as a face was really repugnant because you knew deep down inside that he was a scumbag, but now that he comes right out an flaunts it, he's my fucking role model. That's putting it a bit strong but I do like his recent work a lot.

I didn't like Billy Gunn vs. Chainsaw Charlie as a match at all but Cactus Jack's, "You're ass better call somebody" punchline was the best, and number one. (Hey, I give Dean a couple of months, and then all his good lines are public domain.)

What Didn't Work
Jeff Jarrett vs. Tom Brandi was so unmemorable, except for that nice neckbreaker by Brandi. Other than that and the glow in the dark horse, pretty bad all around.

Jim Cornette brought back the Midnight Express and I'm not going to go off half-cocked until they've had a couple of matches on TV 'cos they looked ok beating up on the R'n'R Express, for whom it's got to suck to STILL be jobbing to the Midnights. The match with the Headbangers was pretty much lousy. I was really hoping for Cornette to do some more bumping.

So, make that two titles HHH has held but hasn't won. I'm guessing this is just to give Owen's reign some legitimacy since he himself never beat Helmsley and when he does at Wrestlemania, he will have. No match. This sucked. Chyna's been really stagnant ever since her boob job. GREAT career move!

That Mike Tyson song was REALLY FUCKING LAME. And I like rap. Owen, you suck.

I was really hoping the gorilla would turn out to be Jim Duggan but he didn't and then he got so annoying throughout the first hour that I was finally glad to see Kane. But it still didn't make all of this Kane/Undertaker stuff better. I'm just glad that the WWF hasn't dug down to the ECW-level of the barrel in it's treatment of women by having huge men destroy them. Yet.

Goldust really looked like the Sandman tonight. He'd actually be good using that gimmick. Luna and Sable continued their completely ECW-style feud. Man, on reflection, ECW made a BIG mistake working with the WWF. They're stuck having a non-existent feud with them which only makes ECW look bush league. And it's not unsafe to say that the WWF breaks kayfabe more often, a supposed appeal to hardcore fans. The upshoot is that the WWF is ripping off ECW freely while ECW can no longer call foul since they're working with the "enemy".

Wrestling?
