By the way, this is known as the "argument from fallacy" or the "fallacy fallacy."

Fair enough.
But I can't take a guy seriously who's point seemed to be the Lakers should everything they can to get Paul George. Then listed things they can't even trade.

Also a fair point.
Anyway, I think it is more likely than not that George stays in Indy next year. Being able to sign him as a free agent next summer is probably the best scenario for the Lakers.

D'Angelo Russell Likes Tweet: 'No Way in Hell' the Lakers Should Take Lonzo Ball
Since there are no NBA games today, I guess it is a slow news day. Of course, the author of the article could have mentioned that D'Angelo liked the Tweet because it was complimentary of him, but conveniently didn't and focused on the "no way in hell they should draft Lonzo" part.

Jerry West still wants to be a Laker....what the fuck....find him an office...now! Just having him around to join in meetings and whatever he wants....would be great. Jerry West is the Lakers....not Magic or anyone else. The Lakers could use the respect he brings. It would be a dream come true to have him back.---Yohe |

This Lakers-Celtics 30 for 30 is amazing. Especially if you play with your phone during the Celtics parts.

Apparently Markelle Fultz worked out for the Lakers today. Guess they're still holding out the slim hope that he'll fall to #2. |

So we gonna talk about what everyone already seems to know?
LeBron is gonna be a Laker next summer.
This is where Uncle John tells us he will be too old.

Jordan won a title at that age, despite being in clear decline. So maybe he'd win us one title if we somehow got a team around him. Bron wants titles, so it's going to be mortgage the future to instantly try to win that first season.
My thought is that if it happens, we better pray for a quick title because we're going to be right back in an ugly rebuild by 2021/22.
Myself? I was kind of hoping of eventually getting out of this rebuilding and have a chance of 10 years of good-to-contending-to-title winning season. |

That would have been nice, but we missed out on Towns by one pick, Ben Simmons by one pick and we'll see this year.
Can't say no to LeBron and as long as say Ingram and Lonzo are retained, while Russell,, Randle and Clarkson are jettisoned to make room for Paul George and whomever else, I don't see the downside.
And I'm sure LeBron's HGH regiment and Karl Malone-like bodytype gives him a prime that lasts into his late-30s.
I just want to pass Boston. And if we got LeBron, we got a shot, soon.

Lebron doesn't want to play with guys like Ingram and Lonzo unless they flash real quality *before* he shows up. We can never forget that Bron was the one who engineered the stupid trade for Love, when Wiggins is far more the player who CLE could have used this year.
Before we point to Irving as being young (which he was), we need to remember he already flashed NBA talent before Bron got there: 19-4-5 & 23-4-6 in his first two years, the ROY and then an All Star game appearance in the second.
Ingram ain't that, and sure as hell won't be a 23 PPG scorer this year. Also, if the Bron fantasy comes true, Paul George is going to be the other Forward along with Bron.
Ball probably will average 6+ APG this year... probably. He might be able to keep his PG job. Again, it depends on what Bron wants to help him WIN A TITLE RIGHT NOW THIS MOMENT INSTANTLY~! If he doesn't think it's Ball, then Magic is going to get him something else. Because you totally sell your soul to Bron when you sign him.
Which is okay when you were CLE with him coming back - Bron was 30, and they're going to get at least 4 great years out of him and at least 3 trips to the Final and at least 1 Title. Those three trips to the Final were pretty much guaranteed because the East is light weight, and none of the other teams were able to step up.
It's a little different when he's 34, and in the Western Coference when you don't know how many great years he still has left in the tank, and you have exactly 0.00 guarantee of getting to the Final because it's the West and there's the Warriors over there and the rest of the West has some decent teams as well.
I want to top the Celtics in Titles too. We're 1 behind them (because the NBA doesn't count one of our titles, and we've rolled over to the NBA on the issue). Okay... maybe Bron helps up get one. But that's not a 100% lock. Jag - you will admit that, right? Bron does not lock us beating KD+Steph+Dray+Klay in 2018/19. They would still be the heavy favorite unless we get another All Star *or two* in addition to Paul George, because Bron+PG+A Bunch Of Kids aren't beating those Dubs. So tying the Celtics with Bron isn't a lock, and it's highly unlikely we're going to get the 2 we need to top the Celtics.
We're not coming out of the West in the Dubs Era. We need to build a team for the long haul when they start getting older and too expensive to maintain.
On the flip side, if Bron comes West to the Lakers... it opens up the East for the Celtics. Making them an injury or two or suspension or two from winning the whole thing. |
