Gets interesting now as the 76ers don't want Okafor, and are likely fielding offers (and have been all day on the possibility that Russell would be off the boards). The may take Okafor and then trade him later, either in the draft if the player they want is still on the board, or after the draft.

I gotta give Hinkie credit. He didn't fuck up yet. Okafor is still with Philly.

I think the team that will pull the trigger on him, if he goes, is the Celts. They were linked to him. THey might trade Marcus Smart for him.

Kings take Willie Cauley-Stein, despite some worries about his wheels. This can only mean that the people doing the Drafting are going to be shipping Boogie out of town. You don't draft WCS to play him at PF next to Boogie in a modern NBA team.

This is going to be really interesting with Okafor in Philly (one or more of the bigs is getting traded) and WCS in Sacto.

I have to laugh at MJ taking Frank Kaminsky. Unless there's a trade in the works with someone higher on the board who was a mark for Kaminsky, it's one of those picks that makes no sense. Gotta love MJ. :)

I'm kind of liking the places where Winslow is falling. These are some decent teams where he can better develop his game, similar to Kawhi in San Antonio. There would have been more pressure higher up.

Lebron opted out. Altho its slim to none, he's going to go to another team.

So in the 1st 12 hours, the offseason leaders are the Spurs. Resigning Leonard, and Danny Green. And trading Tiago Splitter to the Hawks. And perhaps signing Lamarcus Aldridge.

I would have to say they're the favorites to win the title next year. In perhaps Tim Duncan's final season.

Yep... it looks like they're getting LMA.

Smart of them to move Splitter and to come to agreements with Leonard and Green.

The Spurs have never scored a big time free agent the caliber of Aldridge. I am nervously excited but I''ll believe it when I see it.

I don't think LMA is playing the Spurs. He could have gotten the max staying in Portland. If things didn't go well in LA, it's because we're not ready to contend. His options are going "home" to Texas with the Spurs, Rockets or Mavs. The Mavs are rebuilding/reloading. The Rockets will try, but there's a Harden-Howard dynamic there that you wonder if LMA wants to enter.

I think things are looking good.

Butler stays with the Bulls, and Love announces that he's staying with the Cavs.

Also perhaps staying with the Cavs is Tristan Thompson which is important because Lebron wanted him to stay, and with him back, any doubt of him making another "decision" goes away. THis could also mean too JR Smith will be on another team next year.

I have to say that the Spurs are handling this perfectly. They got Leonard and Green done smoothly, clearly having talked about this with the players for a while. They had the deal to move Thiago lined up to get done quickly. They went into their meeting with meeting with LMA with a clear message: we're bringing back pretty much all of the team that was one of the 2-3 best in the NBA at the end of the year when everyone was healthy, with the one big change: "we'd have you in the place of Thiago."

If I'm LMA, the only thing I would need to hear after that from the Spurs is the answer to this question:

"Pop: I'm ready to sign with the Spurs, but I need to know if you're going to stick around as coach for those four seasons of my contract."

If Pop could says yes, then I'd sign.
