| I doubt the Blazers go after Batum...but if they can't get anyone else to show up...they just might have to overpay Nick to keep status quo. |

Houston Rockets going hard after Dwight Howard dream
Howard + Richardson + Davis + Duhon
For:
Kevin Martin + Patrick Patterson + Marcus Morris + Chandler Parsons + draft rights to Jeremy Lamb & Royce White & Terrence Jones + multiple first-round picks to the Magic including a potential lottery pick acquired this week from Toronto in the Kyle Lowry deal
Glen Davis
2013: $6,400,000
2014: $6,400,000
2015: $6,600,000
Jason Richardson
2013: $5,799,625
2014: $6,204,250
2015: $6,601,125 (player option)
Chris Duhon
2013: $3,680,000
2014: $3,920,000
So then...
What in the hell do the Rockets put around Howard to try to win?
Those three plus Howard are $35,140,825 for this year. They wipe most of the rest of their roster clean and then sign...
Who? Mayo?
I'm just not getting this.

Jeremy Lin!!! They've bought the hype.
Still not believing the Phil Jackson to the Blazers Front Office stuff, no matter how hard Peter Vescey is pushing it. |

Does it seem weird to anyone else that the one team willing to take on Lin's now-huge salary is the one team that has direct knowledge of just how much money an Asian star player can bring a franchise via international marketing?
I'm just asking. |

| Did Yao really make that much money for the Rockets as a franchise, or was it really the NBA itself that benefited? |

The NBA shares licensing revenue, so Yao/Lin T-Shirt Money would go into a big pot that everyone shares. People overestimate the amount of money that Yao brought directly into the Rockets: he brought it into the NBA.
All those shirts Lin sold put money into the NBA's pockets, not just the Knicks and Rockets.

| That's what I thought, everyone got the coin from it. So the Knicks would get money from Lin no matter which team he plays for. Sure they would get a larger chunk of it if he was a Knick but they're not going to miss out either. |

| Blazers match Minny's offer for Batum. He's not worth anywhere near that $11 million a year. I guess Paul Allen had to win one over the T-Wolves but Brandon Roy's fate was already pre-determined. |

You have to love all these big contracts after the Owners were crying to the poorhouse in the lockout.

Blazers, Rockets, and Celtics traded a bunch of rubbish around in circles...don't think it means anything to really anyone but the GM's in all three cities.
*edit* I guess it was to keep Courtney Lee from heading to Minnesota, don't really care about which team he plays for so whatever...glad Paul Allen got his jollies off of that. |

Lee trade was another win for the Celts. They continue to show that the loss of Ray Allen wont mean much to them.
I still think the East finals will be Celts/Heat. Bulls have done nothing to help their team next year. |

2013 schedule leaks
A big surprise is that heat/Lakers isnt Christmas. I guess the Celts/Lakers will be the other ABC game that day.
Cant complain with Heat/Celts starting off the season. Im sure the Celts will be motivated when the Heat get the rings. That should be very fun. |

Looks like Brian Shaw is out of the Blazers head coach search, there is talk that the current film editor who was the interim-head coach might simply remove the interim from his title.
Translation, Paul Allen thinks he can get Phil to sign on the dotted line in the next 1-3 years. |

2012-2013 NBA National TV Schedule
The usual suspects dominate the national TV landscape. I see a lot of Clipper games televised this year. No doubt they continue to ride the momentum of last year. Probably the two games Im looking forward to the most. Lin's return to MSG. Ray allen's return to Boston. |
