Larry Miller was in over his head, he's back at Nike. This Clipper GM pickup can play both roles as far as I'm concerned.

Portland continues to have a bad week with Hibbert's offer sheet expected to be matched by Indiana. A good decision by Indiana.

Clipps would love to have Mar'Shon, even if he's a below average shooter.

Dwight Howard trade talks stall with Cleveland out as third team

The last part of the piece is interesting. Was scratching my head why the Cavs would want to be the 3rd wheel to make the Nets that much stronger in the East to make for another Super Team. We know the owner is a crybaby on stuff like that, and as a GM or a team with good young talent, I'm not sure why I would help them unless I was getting something major out of it.

Beautiful.

I believe quickest resolution is

Dwight to Lakers

Bynum to Houston

Picks (including Toronto unprotected 2013 pick and young players to Orlando)

Wave your wand, Mitch.

Nets move back to front of line for Dwight Howard trade

Looks like there's pressure on the Nets to get something done because of Lopez's restricted free agency. Some team might offer him something, and if the Nets are forced to match, they can't trade him after that until December. Hence the need to do a trade with Orlando before that happens.

With some luck, the Nets-Orlando thing won't get done today, the Nets will feel forced to sign Lopez, and we can get them out of the Howard Derby. ;)

Nets are officially out of Howardgate with the Lopez signing. For now that is. Because Lopez has in his contract that he cant be traded till january 15th. So maybe by then Howardgate will continue.

But I still think the Lakers will somehow get him.

As for the Nets, they're still good on paper. Though Im unsure if the former Kardashian member will be a better asset than Howard. But they did win with Brooks staying put. Hes going to be great for them. And Evans (sans his FT shooting) will be fine off the bench.

Nick Batum is being pursued big time by Minnesota, Portland will eventually let him go if they can't work out a sign and trade with Minnesota and a third team (Kyle Korver was the suspected addition) as he's not worth 11 million a year.

Looks like Woves are going to make the $45M / 4 Yr offer. Blazers weren't interested in a sign & trade, so it's now time for them to match by within the next three days.

Rockets to amnesty Luis Scola

What in the heck would the Rockets have left after this, even if they get Howard? Kevin Martin is in the last year of his deal and would be 30 if they signed him to a new one. Scola is 32 this year, with three years left on his contract (32-33-34). It's a $9M to $11M escalator.

I'm just not getting it if they're doing all this to try to get Howard as a rental. How are they going to build around him?
