| It was an Achilles so he's out for next year. They did draft Wiseman, and are acquiring Oubre. Although their luxury tax is going to be a nightmare. |

The Klay injury is tragic.
Per Bobby Marks, the Dubs had:
$17.2M Trade Exception
$5.7M Mid-Level Exception
2021 GSW 1st Round Pick
2022 GSW 1st Round Pick
2021 MIN 1st Round Pick
5 future 2nd Round Picks
The Trade Exception is what Oubre is being traded into. The question is what the Dubs give up. OKC likely wanted to dump the contract as Oubre wasn't part of the long term plans. But they likely also would want something. They were looking yesterday to trade him for a 1st round pick, with Warriors buzz already popping up before Klay's injury. The Dubs didn't bite yesterday, nor did anyone else... but the Dubs circled back today. Haven't seen what is going the other way in any of the reports just yet, but highly unlikely the Dubs would part with the Wolves picks. Perhaps their own 2021 or 2022 with protections.
There has been a ton of talk of Avery Bradley opting out of his Lakers deal specifically to go to the Warriors, where it looks like he had been targeting that Mid-Level to get something another 1+1 like he had with the Lakers, i.e. get a second year of guaranteed money rather than just the one year left. Insurance in case the market stays tight next year, but also the option to opt-out again if things turn up.
Just a guess, but given his defense and 3P shooting, the Dubs want him even more now than a few days ago. Wiggins, Oubre and Weissman against exactly experienced playoff guys or really have ever played on good NBA teams. Bradley has. Not saying he has a monster playoff record, but the last time he was there in 2017, he had a good run overall. |

Steven Adams is headed to the Pelicans. That should be some front court duo, Zion and Steven Adams.
One of the bigger offseason stories is OKC continuing to amass more and more draft picks. Pretty soon they're going to have enough to have an entire draft's worth of picks. |

| One of the more riskier moves is Gordon Hayward leaving Boston to sign a 4 year 120 mil deal with the Hornets. Lot of money indeed. Interesting to see Hayward coexist with (La) Melo. |

Speaking of Houston, they trade Westbrook to the Wizards. For John Wall and a 2023 first rounder.
Gotta give the advantage to the Wiz. I don't know how Harden and Wall will coexist. |

NBA and NBPA announce COVID-19 test results

8.8% is an uncomfortably high number, especially give some player had been positive prior to 11/24 going back to the Jazz outbreak that shutdown last season. That's working on the theory that we still don't know whether people can get it a second time this close together.
With hoops, all it takes is one positive player to really spread it around a team and screw things up. Camps start in a couple of days. Pre-season not long after that. Regular season sooner than we think. There is no bubble. People need to get really smart about this.

This felt like it was going to happen when Bron and AD signed their deals. If there was a decent chance he wouldn't sign his max, they would have made more flexible deals.
On the flip side, we've had several players sign big contracts and then force their way out of town via trade demands. PG13 signed the deal with OKC, and then the next year was on his way to LAC. Team Giannis probably knows that if things don't work out in MIL to their liking, they can demand a trade. |

| The Warriors seems destined not to have a great year. Granted they played two very good teams, but after Curry, there’s not much of a team. Although Weisman is going to be great. Still Wiggins has been pretty lousy so far. |

Well the much-rumored Harden to the Nets trade finally happened. With the Nets trading perhaps their two brightest future stars in Caris Levert, and Jarrett Allen, and a whole bunch of 1st rounders as well.
This has to be one of the riskiest trades ever. Moreso now because Kyrie Irving has been awol as of late. He seems to have a lot of problems inside and who knows when he will return.
If the new big 3 are able to coexist well, they should be right up there as contenders in the Eastern Conference. They lost a lot of depth though with this trade. |
